1. Describe yourself and what you do.
I wear mostly neutrals, but knit almost entirely with color. I love experimenting with new stitches and yarns. I started out creating Made-To-Order pieces, but after selling my first pattern, I knew that’s what I would rather be doing, so now I run a website selling knitting and crochet patterns.
2. Messy or organized? How does this trait affect your creative process?
I keep things pretty organized most of the times. I’m one of the few crafters I know that feels a bit of anxiety when it comes to having shelves full of yarn. I like to keep my yarn stash and supplies small and all in one place. Right now that place is a drawer in my entertainment stand — that’s where all of my yarn is kept.
Having a small, organized yarn and supply stash helps me to concentrate on each project and dedicate myself to what I’m currently working on. Otherwise, I would find myself looking over at a shelf full of yarn and casting on five new project every single day. Nothing would get finished! Haha.
3. Any tips to sourcing the best tools and supplies?
Always check out yarn stores in your area! They have so many pretty needles and supplies that you won’t be able to find at a large chain store.
4. Name one tool you cannot live without, and tell us why.
My Addi Click Interchangeable Needles. I absolutely love working with them! They glide so well and make knitting a breeze. When I first started knitting, I used only bamboo needles as that’s what my local craft store carried, but now you won’t find me using anything else but my Addi’s. Sometimes I’ll even begin a project on different needles and frog the entire thing to start again with them because they just make knitting so much smoother.
5. What is your most recent purchase?
3 skeins of Madelinetosh yarn in the color Silver Leaf. It is an absolute dream. So, so pretty!
6. What is your best under $10 spent?
I recently bought a 25mm crochet hook and I love it! I am always looking for huge yarn now just so I can use it!
